Scottish Region Gets New Secretary
The Scottish Region of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) has a new secretary.
Margaret Roy has taken over the role of Regional Secretary from Graham Atkins who stepped down during the summer. Margaret is also the first female office bearer in the Scottish Region.
In addition to taking on the challenging role of Regional Secretary, Margaret is the Scottish Region's Tayside area representative and has arranged a number of meetings and visits in this area.
The new Scottish Region Chairman, John Fender said, "We are pleased that Margaret is our new Secretary and I hope that this encourages more female members to take an active role in the Institute."Margaret is a Public Transport Officer with Perth & Kinross Council's Public Transport Unit, with responsibilities for the procurement, management and monitoring of education transport and local bus services within Perth City and South West Perthshire.
Prior to working for the Council, Margaret fulfilled an administrative role at Stagecoach Perth bus depot. Therefore she has experienced both the private sector and public sector aspects of the bus industry. She has been a full member of CILT since 2002, subsequent to completing the CILT's Diploma in Transport and the Advanced Diploma in Transport.
