Membership & Education
The CILT(UK) is the professional body for individuals and organisations in the logistics, transport and supply-chain fields and has approximately 23,500 members, a number that is increasing. Members of the Institute receive a wide range of benefits and services including:

Institute Qualifications
The Institute's professional qualifications are recognised within the UK and worldwide as a statement of professional achievement, knowledge and competence. Those holding the qualifications will find them invaluable in advancing their careers. Qualifications are available at various levels, from introductory level through to those suitable for aspiring junior and senior managers as well as a distance-learning MSc programme offered in conjunction with Aston University, UK.
CILT(UK) Level 2 Introductory Certificate
This Introductory Certificate is designed for employees new to the profession or for students at secondary or FE level to provide a grounding of the concepts and applications involved in the movement of goods and people. The course provides an introduction to the theories of integrated supply chain management and establishes the framework and environment in which each sector operates.
CILT(UK) Level 3 Certificate
A programme for new or aspiring supervisors and first-line managers in logistics and transport, designed to increase knowledge, skills and confidence as part of a managerial role and provide an understanding of Logistics and Transport Management through a range of optional units. Assessment is either by examination or competency based. The modular, examination-based route may also enable students to gain exemption from the national and international CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence). Some logistics units of the competency-based route are recognised by the European Board of Logistics (ECBL).
CILT(UK) Level 4 Professional Diploma
This modular programme provides the increased sector-specific knowledge and expertise essential for modern business to managers with operational responsibilities. The course develops core management skills in Human Resource Management, Economics, Finance and Marketing within the areas of Supply-Chain, Transport Planning or Transport Operations. Students are also able to specialise in their area of expertise, with optional units covering International Business, Inventory, Movement of Goods, Movement of People, Production Planning, Project Management*, Retail Logistics, Sourcing & Procurement, Transport & Society, Transport Planning Techniques & Warehousing.
The modular examination-based route may enable students to gain exemption from the national and international CPC (Certificate in Professional Competence). Some Logistics units of the competency-based route are recognised by the European Certificate Board for Logistics (ECBL).

CILT(UK) Advanced Diploma in Logistics
The ILT Advanced Diploma in Logistics provides new and aspiring senior managers with the strategic management skills required for this level of responsibility. This course covers the identification of logistics requirements, strategy formulation, the design of logistics strategies and plans, improving the effectiveness of logistics operations, supporting logistics development and practice and culminates with a logistics-based research project. This course is recognised by the European Certification Board for Logistics (ECBL).
CILT(UK) Advanced Diploma in Transport
This Advanced Diploma in Transport gives aspiring leaders a tactical insight of what will be required of them at the next stage of their professional development and prepares the next generation of business champions for this important transition. Two core units deal with the development of Transport Policy at local, national and international levels coupled with Business Strategy and Policy. Students then study either Transport Planning, Transport and Society or other relevant units specific to their chosen specialism and career path.
MSc in Passenger Transport Management & MSc in Logistics Management
A CILT(UK) MSc will equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to bridge the gap between operational and strategic management to fulfil your professional potential and enhance your strategic capabilities for your own and your organisation's benefit. The three-year distance learning programme is validated by Aston University, UK, and enables students to work, learn and implement their new ideas and strategies simultaneously.
