Monday 13 February 2012 (1730 for 1800)	Curl Aberdeen, Eday Walk, Aberdeen, AB15 6LN Click here for a map	"North East Railway Developments" by Keith Jones Keith Jones retired in 2007 from Aberdeenshire Council as one of 3 Heads of Law and Administration, after a career of over 31 years in local government, largely in a senior capacity. He joined the former Kincardine and Deeside Distict Council in 1975 having worked for a few years in private legal practice. Although only peripherally involved in transportation matters professionally, Keith has had a lifelong interest in transport and transport history. He enjoys rail travel, particularly overseas. Keith is on the Board of Grampian Transport Museum, and was a past Chairman of the Great North of Scotland Railway Association. He has also authored a few booklets and magazine articles on local railway and transport history. Keith's talk on "Lost opportunities - A look at rail transport in North East Scotland" will consider the decline of railfreight and the now limited scope for commuter train services and will encourage some debate at its conclusion. Note: There is no charge for this event and no booking required.
