Institute's Chief Executive leaves.
It has been announced by the Institute that the Chief Executive, Geoff Newton, CMILT, is leaving. Geoff took over from the Institute's previous Chief Executive, Graham Ewer, CBE, in September 2004. Steve Rinsler, the Institute's Chairman said,
"We are very sorry to announce that Geoff Newton will be leaving the Institute shortly, to pursue other opportunities.
During his period as Chief Executive, Geoff played an important role in helping the Institute develop, and implement, a number of initiatives, which are important to the future success of CILT(UK). In particular, Geoff has led the work of the Executive to develop an innovative Corporate membership scheme, to engage more directly with employers, which will be launched early in the New Year. He has helped to build a significant opportunity for the Institute to help address International Humanitarian logistics issues, raising the external profile of the CILT(UK). He has also played an important role in developing new business opportunities in China, helped establish a world class digital Knowledge Centre, as part of the development of additional services to members.
We wish Geoff every success in the future."
The Institute will be advertising for another Chief Executive Officer as quickly as possible and in the meantime the four Directors will report to the Chairman.
