The Scottish Region MSc. Scholarship Awards, 2005

The awards of the CILT (UK) Scottish Region Msc Scholarships were made at the Scottish Region's Annual General Meeting on 26th April 2005. The Director General of CILT International, Cyril Bleasdale OBE presented the scholarships to the winners, Edward Ogbonnaya and Adam Priestley.
Edward Ogbonnaya is currently studying at Heriot Watt University for a MSc. in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He already has a first class degree in Transport Management; in addition he has several years work experience in Nigeria where he was a transport adviser in the Bureau of Public Enterprises, a division of the Nigerian government based in Abuja. He is determined to follow a career in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. He was also president of the transport students and published a news letter called Transworld which increased awareness of logistics amongst relevant companies.
Adam Priestley is studying for a MSc. in Transport Planning and Engineering at Napier University. He already has a First Class MA (Hons) Geography Degree from Edinburgh University; he won the Jessie Watson Prize for academic excellence and outstanding contribution to departmental student affairs. He has had work experience in the Scottish Executive Education Department. He intends to follow a transport related career aiming to improve the transport infrastructure in the U.K.
In addition to the Scholarship prize, both winners also received a pair of First Class tickets from First ScotRail, valid on their services between any pair of stations in Scotland over the next year. Competition for these awards was of high standard and the Scottish Region would like to thank all the applicants, for their efforts and Caledonian MacBrayne for it's support of the awards and the provision of a tickets for a trip on a west coast of Scotland ferry for all the candidates along with a copy of their 150th Anniversary souvenir book.
