The Scottish Region MSc. Scholarship Award, 2004

The 2004 Scholarship awarded by the Scottish Region was presented to Rolf A. Gustafsson during the recent vist to the Port of Rosyth and tour of the Superfast Ferry.

Rolf is currently studying for his Msc. In Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Heriot-Watt University and already has a Bsc. in Industrial Management from the University of Skovde in Sweden. Rolf comes from Boras, Sweden and has gained logistics related experience both during national service in the Swedish Army, where he was attached to the 10th Machanised Infantry Brigade, and with Beve Electronics and LampGustaf. He also spent some 9 months serving in the Swedish Overseas Force in Kosovo, attached to NATO's KFOR service.

In addition to his native Swedish, Rolf is fluent in both English and Norwegian and can also speak Danish and German. He has a wide range of work experience gained during part time and holiday work and has at various times worked in a sawmill, restaurant and bakery as well as in marketing and advertising.

He is planning his final dissertation on the effects that different business, ethnic and national cultures have on supply chains. Rolf enjoys the outdoor life and is keen on all kinds of sports. When not studying, he likes to ride his Kawasaki ZX9R motorcycle.
