The Scottish Region had two winners at intermediate level in the above Competition (1999 - 2000). One of the two Scottish Winners is Claire MacNeil, a pupil of Castle Bay School, Isle of Barra. To mark her achievement, the Region Chairman and Scottish Officer of the Institute were flown to Barra courtesy of Loganair on 6th November 2000, to present her with several prizes.

Claire scooped a £50 prize for herself from the Institute's Scottish Region, two First Class rail tickets for a trip of her choice courtesy of ScotRail and a framed certificate for herself and also one for her school. Highlands & Islands Airports provided a small reception with hospitality at Barra Airport for the presentation.

Claire's project was appropriately on "The History of Barra Airport" and took her about four months to complete, having done much of her work in the cafeteria of the airport. The Scottish Region is most grateful to all of the sponsors involved who contributed to rewarding Claire for her efforts.
