Special Announcement: One Day Conference
Young Professionals in Transport 2008 - "Innovation in Transportation for a New Generation" - A one-day conference aimed at young transport professionals featuring presentations by key practitioners in today's transport industry on Thursday 22 May 2008 (0900 - 1600).
It has been announced that HRH The Princess Royal, the Institute's Patron will attend the above event and will give a short address. There may also be opportunities to meet HRH. This high profile event will be open to anyone who would like to attend and booking forms and the full programme will be available shortly on the Scottish Region website and from the Regional Officer - Scotland. The programme for the day will include top Transport Industry speakers such as Brian Souter, Chief Executive Stagecoach Group, Richard Brown Chief Executive Eurostar, Keith Gowanlock Senior Technical Director WSP Development & Transportation and Willie Gallagher Executive Chairman TIE. The Chair person for the day will be Sarah Longair Operations Director Stagecoach South West and Winner of the CILT Young Manager of the Year Award.
In addition John Swanson Head of Operational Research at Steer Davies Gleave, London will present on the Urban Dynamic Model, followed by a Workshop and for the first time there will be a "BBC Question Time" style Panel chaired by Jim Steer Founder Director of Steer Davis Gleave. It is expected that the Panel will be broadly based.
Special Announcement: Additional Event
The Committee is pleased to announce an extra event. Following the interest in the "Trams for Edinburgh" meeting in January, tie Ltd. has kindly agreed to have a rerun of this event. Attendance is strictly limited to 28 persons and booking via Corby is essential. See the "events" page for full details.
